CONGRATULATIONS, JAN SPRAKE, ON YOUR RETIREMENT FROM THE MEDIC ONE FOUNDATION

We would like to congratulate, Jan Sprake, the Executive Director of Medic One Foundation, on her recent retirement! With over 40 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Jan has dedicated her professional career to supporting critical programs in our communities.

Twenty-one years ago, she accepted a job with the Medic One Foundation as our Executive Director. Since then, thanks to her leadership, the Foundation has raised over $40 million to fund the education and training of 405 paramedics in the Michael K. Copass Paramedic Training Program for Seattle, King County, Snohomish County, San Juan Island County, East Jefferson County, Whatcom County, and North Kitsap County.

She has also overseen $3 million in EMS Research Grants and awarded over $1 million in Equipment Grants to fire departments and EMS agencies throughout our region.

She forged the Medic One Foundation into a regional organization dedicated to our region’s first responders. More recently, she helped launched the EMT Scholarship Program for under-represented communities, supported an emerging Mobile Simulation Training Vehicle, enhanced our Community CPR/AED Training Programs, and expanded mental health training for over 2,000 fire personnel in our region.

Thank you, Jan, for your dedication to the Medic One Foundation, our region’s many firefighters and paramedics, and the health and safety of our communities. Enjoy retirement!
