Sharing Lifesaving Skills at Local Events
This summer, Medic One Foundation has been out in full force—connecting with community members at local farmers markets and festivals to share lifesaving information and skills. From the Phinney Ridge and Columbia City Farmers Markets to the University District, Burien, and the Lake City Summer Festival, our outreach booths have helped hundreds of residents learn how to respond in an emergency.
At each event, visitors had the opportunity to practice hands-only CPR and learn how to use an AED with guidance from our staff and volunteers—including members of the University of Washington EMS Collegiate Group. This dedicated team of students, many of whom are pursuing careers in healthcare or emergency medicine, joined us throughout the summer to help teach CPR and engage with the public. Their enthusiasm and peer-to-peer approach brought a dynamic energy to our outreach and helped make the experience approachable and fun for all ages.
These market and festival events are part of our ongoing commitment to building a stronger chain of survival—one informed, prepared bystander at a time.
Join us on August 16 for the Big Day of Play at Rainier Playfields in South Seattle. Come learn CPR, grab a first aid kit, and find out how you can help save a life. We’ll be there and hope you will too!
