PARAMEDIC STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ANNUAL SICK/NOT SICK DRILL

On January 11th, paramedic students from Class 45 were hard at work assessing and treating patients at the annual Sick/Not Sick Drill at Shoreline Fire Department. Each scenario required the students to quickly assess the severity of the patient’s medical emergency in order to determine the best course of action in terms of treatment and transportation to the hospital. Firefighter recruits from Eastside Fire & Rescue, Kirkland Fire Department, and Shoreline Fire department participated in each scenario, practicing their new EMT skills. These recruits will return to their communities as probationary firefighters/EMTs once their EMT training is complete.
