Help Train Seattle’s Future Paramedics: Support the Mirabella Scholarship Fund Today!
This fall, the need for expertly trained paramedics remains critical. EMS agencies around our region are facing staffing shortages due to retirements. In fact, Seattle Fire currently lacks full staffing and has eight students in the current class of the Medic One Paramedic Training, photographed above.
If you attended the Earthquake Awareness program at Mirabella in December, you may have heard that Mirabella residents have funded two Paramedic Training Scholarships every year for the past 11 years—an incredible 22 paramedics trained! We’re proud of the unique relationship between Mirabella and our paramedics, and with your continued support, we hope to reach 24 trained medics this year. Thanks to a generous grant from the Mirabella Foundation for Class 51, we’re well on our way!
In 2023, Seattle Medic One and the Seattle Fire Department responded to over 140 medical calls at Mirabella, with nearly 20% requiring advanced, lifesaving intervention. Ensuring our paramedics receive world-class training is in all our best interests, especially those who serve or may one day serve at Mirabella. Please join your fellow-residents and support the Mirabella Paramedic Training Scholarship Fund today!
