$1 Million Fund Honoring Dr. Michael Copass Close to Goal!

DonateYou can help ensure the future of our region’s outstanding paramedic training program with a gift to the Michael K. Copass, MD Endowed Fund for Paramedic Training. The $1 million campaign began two years ago and gifts totaling $740,000 have been donated to date!

Dr. Michael Copass

“To be a good medic, an individual has to be an unselfish person, willing to get up in the middle of the night to take care of people who are lonely or people who are different in terms of their lifestyles and be unimpressed by the differences – seeing disease for what it is, not for what it lives in.” —Michael K. Copass, MD

Gifts to the Copass Endowed Fund will:

  • Establish a consistent source of revenue to train paramedics now and in the future.
  • Earn the naming rights for the Michael K. Copass, MD Paramedic Training Room at Harborview Medical Center.
  • Honor Dr. Copass’ extraordinary service to our community.

Created in honor of Dr. Michael Copass, the Seattle physician known worldwide for his pioneering work in pre-hospital emergency care, the endowed fund’s principal will never be spent. The interest it generates will help cover the costs for training drills, medical books, state-of-the-art equipment, training aids and lab supplies — plus honorariums for guest lecturers and physician instructors.
