Holidays, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Memorials.

When you wish to honor someone special, commemorate the memory of loved ones, cheer sick friends or simply tell someone how much you care, please consider making a Memorial or Tribute Gift to the Medic One Foundation. Your thoughtfulness will be remembered and appreciated and your generosity will help to preserve the quality of our region's outstanding Medic One services.

Upon receipt of a Memorial or Tribute Gift, a distinctive acknowledgment card is sent to the individual or family of the individual being honored. Notification does not include the amount of the gift. As the donor, you will receive a separate acknowledgement for your own records.

The Medic One Foundation is pleased to honor all tributees by name in our Annual Report during the calendar year in which a Memorial or Tribute Gift is received. We also honor those whose memorial or tribute fund totals $1,000 or more by listing their name in the Tribute Gifts section of the Foundation’s Recognition Wall.

Bequests

If you are considering a bequest to the Medic One Foundation, there are several possibilities: a cash bequest, a gift of property, a share of the residue of your estate or the remainder of a trust after the lifetime of a family member. The following language may be helpful to your attorney in facilitating your bequest to the Medic One Foundation.

You may be able to direct your attorney to prepare a codicil, or amendment, to your existing will. It is usually not necessary to revise the entire document. To provide for the Medic One Foundation through a will, the following sample language is recommended.

Specific Bequest:

"I give, devise and bequeath [insert the sum or description of the property] to the Medic One Foundation, 325 9th Ave., MS 359747, Seattle, Washington 98104."

Residuary Bequest:

"I give, devise and bequeath to the Medic One Foundation, 325 9th Ave., MS 359747, Seattle, Washington 98104 all [or a portion - for example fifty percent] of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate."

Contingent Bequest:

"In the event that [insert name of primary beneficiary] shall not survive me, or shall die within ninety (90) days from the date of my death, then I give, devise and bequeath all of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to the Medic One Foundation, 325 9th Ave., MS 359747, Seattle, Washington 98104."

The above samples of bequest provisions are designed to provide unrestricted gifts to the Foundation, to be used wherever the need is greatest. However, you may prefer to restrict your bequest for a specific purpose or program, such as research, paramedic training or emergency medical equipment.

Also, you may choose to establish an endowed fund through your bequest. Because only the interest income from the fund is used, your gift insures that the outstanding quality of care provided by Medic One will continue today as well as in the future. An endowed fund may be named after yourself or your family, your parents, or other individuals you wish to honor.

Individuals who are considering a bequest to the Medic One Foundation are encouraged to contact the Foundation office to ensure that the Foundation is able to conform to any specific desires or requests that may be included in the bequest.

Endowed Funds

Endowed Funds help to ensure that the very best pre-hospital emergency medical care will always be available, today as well as in the future, because only the interest income from the funds is used. The endowment principal remains intact forever, offering a donor the satisfaction of knowing that his or her gift will continue working for generations to come.

An endowed fund may be named after yourself or your family, your parents, or other individuals you wish to honor. Also, endowed funds may be restricted for a specific purpose or program, such as research, paramedic training or emergency medical equipment. Recognition for endowed funds is offered on the Foundation’s Donor Recognition Wall, in Foundation publications and in award letters for paramedic training scholarships, research grants or emergency medical equipment grants.

Endowed Funds may be established at the following gift levels:
